Welcome to a club steeped in over 130 years of history. The ‘North’ are Guernsey’s oldest and most successful football club and today, has approximately 40 volunteer coaches, developing players from the tender age of school reception right up to the ‘vets’. Our vision has always been to nurture our players from the day they walk onto the grass at age five right up to the day they hang up their boots.
The club’s traditional colours are sky blue and chocolate and ‘Northfield’ is our home, which is located at Grand Fort Road, St Sampsons. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming and family friendly club with a key focus on minis and youth development.
North place the well being and safety of each player above all else and our philosophy focuses on developing our youngsters as a whole, and not just their football ability, encouraging all:
To always display high standards of behaviour and appearance.
To respect and champion the rights of each individual following the Respect code as outlined by the FA Respect campaign.
To build an appropriate relationship with the individual based on openness, honesty, mutual trust and respect.
To ensure that taking part, whether it be coaching or playing, is fun and to never let winning take over as the sole objective.
To allow players to develop their football in a fun and positive environment.
To allow players to make mistakes and to be given the opportunity to self-correct.
To involve the players in the decision making process.
Allow players to express themselves without criticism.
To be inclusive and fair in creating opportunities for players to have time on the pitch in the right environment that encourages development and enjoyment.
To listen to each of the players and treat their comments and suggestions with respect.
None of our success would have been possible without the large number of dedicated volunteers and supporters. Our club is also eternally grateful to the many sponsors and donors that contribute to make North part of the fabric of the Channel Island’s football community.
