Lighthouse Physiotherapy was established here on Alderney in January 2017 and Charmaine has been resident since March 2016. Physiotherapy is a fully regulated, protected holistic and caring profession that uses physical therapies to treat different conditions.

Charmaine ‘gets a real buzz’ out of helping her clients to achieve their goals, encouraging them to reach their full physical and functional potential. She considers the whole person and not just the presentation of their injury. Her aim as a Physiotherapist is to help her clients with their injuries of course, but also to improve their mobility, balance, confidence, independence and quality of life; giving them the, knowledge and confidence to help and support themselves.

The Clinic is looking to collaboratively develop good therapeutic relationships across the Bailiwick for the promotion of our islands health. Working to advocate for the clients in her care. Charmaine has worked with elite sports individuals and teams as well as the military, privately and in the charitable sector.

Areas of therapeutic interest include Musculoskeletal outpatient rehabilitation, exercise and coaching. New areas in Alderney include Older People, Community support/exercise classes, pre and post-operative rehab. Techniques used include: manual, exercise, aqua, and electrotherapies, trigger point release and/or acupuncture to promote, maintain and restore well-being as well as reducing pain. She also has an MOE Coaching award and has an empathetic, caring, focussed, professional and hands on approach to the delivery of physiotherapy.

Charmaine is also offering ‘Tele-Health, online and video’ support services.

Charmaine is member of Physio First, The British Medical Acupuncture Society, The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is HCPC Registered.
