Lighthouse Physiotherapy – Alderney

The aim of Lighthouse Physiotherapy is to act as a caring, focused and professional conduit of care!  Charmaine ‘gets a real buzz’ out of helping her clients to achieve their goals, encouraging them to reach their full physical and functional potential.  She considers the whole person and not just the presentation of their injury.  She helps her clients with their injuries of course, but also seeks to improve their mobility, strength, balance, confidence, independence and quality of life; giving them the knowledge and confidence to help and support themselves and maintain their independence.

The clinic is collaboratively seeking and developing good therapeutic relationships across the Bailiwick and further afield, not only for greater professional support, but also for the promotion of the health, rehabilitation and wellbeing of her clients, actively advocating for their care.  Charmaine has worked with elite sports individuals and teams as well as the military, privately and in the charitable sector.  

The main area of therapeutic interest is Musculoskeletal outpatient rehabilitation, triage and signposting.  As a hands-on therapist I will use…  my hands for a number of manual interventions and soft tissue therapies.  Other physical therapies used include hot and cold, trigger point release and/or acupuncture, exercise, to promote, maintain and restore well-being, improve strength and mobility as well as reducing pain.  She has helped people pre and post operatively, assisted with the delivery of therapeutic exercise programmes, falls, balance classes, training, coaching sessions, falls assessments, individual therapeutic balance support and ongoing functional assessments.  She also likes to use coaching, goal setting, reflective practice, advisory and motivational skills to encourage others in their journey towards their goals.

She has an MOE Coaching award and has completed her ‘ Community Connector’ Training Course with Health Connections recently.  She is an empathetic, caring, focused, professional and has a hands on approach to the delivery of physiotherapy.  Charmaine is member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is HCPC Registered.
