We hosted our first ‘Meet the Creatives‘ event at Preloved, Smith St, in partnership with Polygon Collective recently.
This free, quarterly, event was a wonderful opportunity to share stories and experiences, looking more closely at the journey of creativity from the seeds of inspiration to the fruit on the shop floor.
We heard from local artists, Elizabeth Adams and Gill Harrison, and author, Vivienne Robinson, who all gave us deeper insight into what inspires them, how they explore ideas or new techniques and give them shape and substance, the practicalities of how they bring their art and craft to the public and the huge importance of the sense of purpose and fulfilment that the creative process brings them.
The room was full of people, who all felt the passion of these three as they shared their individual stories. It was impossible not to feel lifted up by the real joy that each feels in their work.
We are fortunate to stock work by Liz, Gill and Vivienne, and many other local creatives, in both our shops Preloved, Smith St & Reloved Living, Market Square, and we would encourage anyone with an interest in art to come and take a look. Our Connect spaces are your very own art gallery right in the centre of town!
