Community Mask Making
Health Connections started the ‘Community Mask Making’ project to help meet the demand for face masks during Covid Lockdown 2.0 in 2021. You may have already made masks for family and friends and found real value in knowing that you are helping out.
If you are in need of a mask or know someone who is, they are available from our two town shops ‘Pre-Loved’ and ‘Re-Loved Living’ as well as from various hedge veg boxes set up by our volunteers.
- The masks can be purchased individually for £2 or 3 for £5. They are double thickness with an opening to allow insertion of an extra filter if required.
- The shops are currently open 10am till 5pm.
- Health Connections can deliver to vulnerable individuals and families if needed.
Please get in touch on behalf of vulnerable groups you represent or if you are an essential worker.
We will try our absolute best to keep up with the supply but please bear in mind that our masks are made by volunteers who might be experiencing challenges of their own. Please call our office on 01481 227470 or email kate@healthconnections.gg to enquire when the next batch of masks will be available and register your interest.
Can YOU Help?
If you would like to bring this to the wider community please get in touch. We can supply you with the instructions, fabric, thread, elastic or ties and a simple pattern (all done abiding by guidelines), all you need is a sewing machine and a steady hand.
If you would like to stock our masks, made for your Community by your Community, e-mail shop@healthconnections.gg … essential businesses and hedge veg stalls all welcome.
Thank you, Guernsey folk, for stepping up to this challenge!
