Little Puffin Signing sessions are designed and run by Steph, a qualified speech and language therapist. Sessions focus on a different topic each week using books, songs and sensory activities to demonstrate and practice the Signalong signs. The sessions are relaxed and informal; everyone learns better when they’re having fun!

The States of Guernsey chosen sign system, Signalong, is taught to support communication. Alongside signing as a tool to encourage natural development, Steph also highlights other strategies and developmental milestones during sessions.

All sessions take place at Cobo Community Centre on Tuesday afternoons and Thursdays. ‘PUFFLINGS’ sessions are designed for babies aged 0 – walking. As well as learning signs, there will be information about natural communication development specific to the littlest Pufflings! ‘LITTLE PUFFINS’ sessions are designed for children who are on the move, generally over 12 months. Sensory activities are a big part of Little Puffins sessions, with lots of exciting things to explore linked with the topic of the week.

Sessions run in terms of 9 weeks; January – March, April – June and September – November. There are also special sessions at Easter and Christmas.
