Guernsey Mencap LBG are the local Network Partner of the Royal Mencap Society.  Our primary object is to secure for people with a learning disability provision commensurate with their needs, by increasing public knowledge and awareness of problems that they and their families face, creating a climate of sympathetic public opinion as a prerequisite of acceptance into the community.

As part of its many functions your local committee remains politically aware of the rights of people with learning disabilities, namely the very best of education, their rights to employment and with special regards at all times to possible special needs.

We are self-funding and rely heavily on voluntary donations from the public plus fund raising events. The Guernsey Mencap Committee meets monthly and reviews requests from individuals who may require financial or personal assistance. We are managed by a small team of volunteers; if you would like to become involved, we would love to hear from you.
