To be eligible for Extra Care Housing in the places listed below you must be at least 18 or over for Le Grand Courtil and La Nouvelle Maraitaine and 55 years or over for Rosaire Court and Gardens. In addition, you must be residentially qualified to live in Guernsey, need a minimum of four hours care and support per week and finally be living in accommodation which is deemed unsuitable in light of your care and support requirements.

There are three Extra Care Housing schemes:

  • La Nouvelle Maraitaine, Vale
  • Le Grand Courtil, St Martin
  • Rosaire Court, St Peter Port

The Schemes have self-contained one and two bed apartments, some of which are available under the Partial Ownership Scheme or leasehold/freehold, and some which are available for rent. The Schemes also have communal facilities like restaurants, lounges, hairdressers, assisted bathing, lifts to all floors, and a staff call system. That means tenants can socialise with friends and family, either in their flats or in the shared spaces. Extra Care Housing is about providing a community within a community.
