Bowel Cancer Guernsey

Our aims are to improve the awareness, prevention and diagnosis of bowel cancer within the Bailiwick. We are a registered Guernsey charity

We organise a number of events throughout the year. These include Loud Tie Sunday Lunch, Family Fun Day, a Walking Treasure Hunt and our well-known Loud Tie Day. These are aimed at either raising awareness or fund raising or both.

We have provided exercise equipment at Saumarez Park that is available to everyone on the Island to help improve his or her fitness.

We produce leaflets that are supplied to doctors’ surgeries and other public places such as the Princess Elizabeth Hospital and the Guilles Alles Library to help explain bowel cancer, the symptoms to lookout for, and how to reduce your risk of the disease.

We work closely with Health and Social Care and are actively involved in the new bowel cancer screening project. Recently by the purchase of key equipment to analyse samples collected to run the bowel cancer screening programme and the purchase of a longer colonoscope to reduce the need for people of the Bailiwick to travel off-Island for investigations and treatment.

We have a large group of both Friends and supporters, who often help us by raising funds to support our work.

Our work is in support of all regardless of age or gender.

You can find information and resources on our website together with links to local and national organisations.
