Our Charity Shop Volunteers will support our shop managers; ensuring the day to day running of our charity shops and delivering the very best customer service to our shoppers.
This role will involve supporting the lead coordinators and the CEO remotely and in the office. Basic IT skills and an ability to work professionally within a team is essential. Additional training i.e safeguarding training will be provided.
Our volunteer drivers use their own cars (or our minibus) to transport people with unmet transport needs to opportunities for social connection, health and wellbeing as well as essential appointments. Milage costs are paid by HSC.
After completing our induction, The States of Guernsey Safeguarding Level 1 training and our Community Connector training you can volunteer in Talking Cafes; enabling people in the community to easily access Health, Care and Wellbeing information, activities and support on the Health Connections Directory.
Our Digital Connectors support the non-digital community through free weekly drop-ins which teach basic tech skills such as using the camera, sending e-mails, video calling, using WhatsApp and social media platforms to help connect them to loved ones and local wellbeing services.
This role provides short term telephone support to individuals who are isolated. We can ensure that they have access to:
- practical support such as how to get shopping or food delivered, pet care, essential supplies.
- reliable and up to date information from the States of Guernsey and The Health Connections Directory
- someone to chat to – a regular friendly phone call
