Victoria Hospital Incorporated
Victoria Hospital Incorporated is a medical charity set up to assist Bailiwick of Guernsey with medical or medically-related expenses.
Examples of the types of payment made include:
- Medical Bills and Equipment
- St John Ambulance Bills
- Travel Costs
- Play School Fees
- Respite Care
- Dental Costs (not cosmetic)
Who can Claim?
VHI assists residents of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, who may make a claim for assistance for themselves and for their families. Any resident of Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm can make, or have a claim made on their behalf to help meet medical, medically-related or other costs to assist individuals or their families impacted by the costs related to their medical conditions. The committee also makes grants to a number of medically-related Charities and Comfort Funds. Please speak to your Doctor’s Practice, Health Visitor, Social Worker or Care Organisation if you would like them to make a claim on your behalf
Making a claim
Claims for assistance have to be made by submitting a completed VHI claim form (detailing the nature of the claim and the claimant’s personal circumstances).

Alternatively you can contact our Honorary Secretary via e-mail of phone who will be happy to send you an application form by post. Claims for assistance will be considered by the Committee who meet five times a year but emergency applications can be considered at any time.
