2023 will be a fabulous year to join us on our annual Round Island Walk. Not only will it deliver a tremendous day taking in our wonderful coastal scenery and provide you with the satisfaction of taking part in Guernsey’s most challenging sponsored walk, but this year you will be helping us celebrate two major milestones. Our 2023 walk will be our 25th Round Island Walk and happily it coincides with the 100th Anniversary of the foundation of Rotary in Guernsey, since which time it has continued to serve the community of our Bailiwick.
26 Guernsey charities will benefit from the money raised from the 2023 Saffery Rotary Walk, taking place on Saturday 10th June. This year’s selection represents a diverse range of charities across Guernsey who support islanders through many sectors, such as healthcare, sport, social care, arts, leisure and more. The full list of charities is can be found here.
‘Support will continue to be needed with ever increasing demands placed on the voluntary services, and we are pleased to be able to assist those who work selflessly for others. We are confident that the lives of a number of islanders will be made better and easier through the sponsorships raised by walkers.’ says Simon Milsted, the chair of Saffery Rotary Walk’s organising team.
You are as good as there! It is simple to register simply by following THIS LINK.
For details of the route, please follow this link.
TOO FAR? – If the full 39 miles is simply too much of a challenge for you please consider joining with friends or colleagues to enter a RELAY TEAM of between four and seven walkers who can each choose a leg of the walk and complete the challenge collectively. You will still enjoy the experience of being part of Guernsey’s largest charity walk. Learn more about our RELAY TEAMS on our website.
WANT TO WALK AS A FAMILY? – Look at our Family Walk initiative. This has been designed to allow families to enjoy all the fun and satisfaction of being part of our coastal walk but over a more measured distance.
You can also find more information about these initiatives on our main website.
If you are still in any doubt, don’t put it off. Return to our website www.safferyrotarywalk.org.gg and learn more about the walk. You will see just how much fun was had by all involved in previous years and just imagine yourself watching the sun rise over the cliffs in one of our amazing t-shirts.
Your contribution to our fundraising effort would also be very much appreciated by the charities within the Bailiwick supported by our 2023 Walk. Our costs of staging the event are met by our generous corporate sponsors so every pound of sponsorship that you raise goes to the charities without deduction. The Saffery Rotary Walk website provides all the information needed for those wishing to walk and those who simply wish to support.
Remember that in registering for the Walk, you are agreeing to support those specific charities which have successfully applied to the organisers for funds. The Walk is not intended as a vehicle to raise funds for other charities.
