Health Connections is delighted to launch the Gift it Forward scheme, in partnership with IslandMums, IslandMums Together and HomeStart, designed to enable islanders living in lockdown have access to essential clothing, shoes and uniform for children up to age 16.

We know that children grow like weeds at this time of year….winter is over, spring arrives and you realise that all last year’s summer clothes look like they’ve shrunk in the wash!

Please email kate@healthconnections.gg to request home delivery of basic clothing according to your age and size requirements. We will try to meet your needs dependant on stock that we currently have available and all gov.gg hygiene guidelines will be met when delivering. Requests can only be made by email and the shop remains closed to customers for the time being. We only have a limited stock of clothing so in order to keep this service active, and to keep with the true spirit of Gift it Forward, we would like you to donate children’s clothes and shoes upon receipt of the clothing delivered to you. Donated clothes must be hot washed and preferably tumble dried and ironed and shoes thoroughly wiped with disinfectant. This only applies to children’s clothing and shoes and we cannot take donations of any other kind at this time although we will be delighted to do so when lockdown ends.

The Gift it Forward scheme will run from now until one month after lockdown ceases. When lockdown restrictions are fully lifted, and we are able to use the shop again, home delivery will stop and customers can come and collect from shop.

We are offering this as a free of charge service but we would be very grateful if you wish to donate to Health Connections. You can do so by sending a cheque made payable to Health Connections LBG and posted to Health Connections, The Ron Short Centre, Amherst, St Peter Port, GY1 2DH, via the Health Connections website www.healthconnections.gg, as a cash donation in a sealed envelope or come and see us in the shop when we reopen.

If you are having a clear out of any clothing please keep it until lockdown ceases rather than taking it to the clothing banks. Donating direct to a local charity ensures all donations remain local where they can support the immediate needs of islanders. After lockdown has ended and we can operate normally once more, when you donate clothing to the Health Connections shop we will give you a donations leaflet allowing you to select items to take from the shop without charge. Please also remember that we operate a ‘Fair Donation’ scheme….we do not price anything in the shop, instead we ask that you make a fair donation, amount chosen by you, when you pay at the till. As ever, a big thank you for all of your support.
