The monthly dance takes place at the Wayside Cheer, usually on the third Sunday of every month.

The afternoon is filled with all the Ballroom, Latin American, Sequence, Line and Fun dances you can manage. We dance from 2.30pm – 5pm with a break in the middle for tea and a biscuit/cake and the chance to chat. We always include a few fun dances and easy sequence dances so that if you turn up without a partner, you will be able to join in.

We are a very friendly, welcoming bunch who love to dance and have a laugh. The emphasis is on getting up to “have a go” rather than worrying that there is going to be criticism for getting it wrong … as I said, we laugh a lot!!!

Usually we run a theme for the dances. We have some dancers who like to come in full fancy dress, and those who like to wear just a token relating to the theme, and those who just like to turn up in whatever they are comfortable wearing.

Sometimes, a couple of our members who are unable to dance because of mobility issues still come along for the fun, and they sing along with some of the music as they watch the other dancers twirl by.

This dance is open to anybody of any age who would like to spend an afternoon dancing.
